Happy New year to everyone! We hope everyone has had a great holiday, For one client, at least it has been a dream come true. Timmy Cochrane, who had a stunning 46 Ebro Mirror on Boxing day a few years back (Before Covid), had come back this Christmas hoping for another Christmas miracle this time around.
At first, it had been tough going as the Christmas carp were not playing ball above the dam. He had five fish in the low 30s over the first 6 days but we were after something much bigger so when weed started to come threw the swim we did not need a twisted arm to move to a new area.
I had been baiting up a swim just below the bridge just in case and the move soon paid off as he soon had 4 or 5 runs up to 36lbs. We took this as a good sign so with Father Christmas (My Dad) himself by his side he settled in with the visions of monster Ebro carp dancing in his head. It didn't take long as soon the Christmas bells started to ring like a choir of angels and after an incredible battle, a 50lbs 12oz graced his net only 48 hours after moving to the new swim. It was Joy to the world! All caught on a single yellow boilie, Mandi's homemade specials doing the trick again.
